Today, I have a great post from my friend Brittany. Enjoy!
It’s amazing how you can get a job doing almost anything these days. Seriously. There are professional snugglers, ear cleaners, dog breath smellers, apology givers… you can even get paid for donating your stools to science (and I don’t mean the table kind).
Me? I get paid to play on Facebook. And I love it.
It all started when I launched the Facebook page for my blog, Equipping Godly Women, back in August 2014. Ever since day one, my engagement was great and page growth was steady. I enjoyed chatting with my fans and all was well.
I didn’t think much about monetizing it. I was just using it to draw traffic to my site and to hang out with other women like me.
And then suddenly, in Fall 2015, my page skyrocketed overnight. I went from 2,000 to 100,000 Facebook fans in five months. They just kept coming and coming!
Today, I’m at over 140,000 fans and still climbing, and I’m loving every minute of it.
(Want the secret to my incredible page growth? Be sure to check out my book, Strategies Worth Sharing: How I Grew My Facebook Page from 2,000 to 100,000 in Five Months for a detailed breakdown on the EXACT strategy I used to get 140,000 Facebook fans and counting–without paying a dime!)
How to Make Money on Facebook
Making money on Facebook is actually surprisingly easy. You only need two things: a decent sized fan base (it does NOT have to be huge!) and a way to monetize it. Here are a few ideas:
1. Publish Sponsored Stories
Have an audience on Facebook? There are plenty of companies out there who want to get their message and their brand in front of audiences just like yours, and they’re willing to pay. Sometimes you post exactly the message they give you, but other times you can just be yourself and post whatever you like–and get paid to do it!
These are just like the sponsored posts bloggers do on a regular basis, but they are a lot less time-consuming and you can do a lot more of them without wearing out your audience.
One company that can help you find sponsored posts for your social media accounts is Izea.
2. Drive Traffic to Your Website
Are you a blogger? Do you have ads on your site? If so, every time you bring traffic to your site from Facebook, you’re increasing your ad revenue. Say your ads have a $7 CPM. That means for every 1,000 people you drive to your blog from Facebook, you earn $7.
Sure, it may take some time to send thousands of people to your site, but grow a substantial Facebook page and all of those dollars will begin adding up quickly!
3. Sell Your Own Products and Services
Do you have a product or service you can sell? Perhaps an ebook, t-shirt or coffee mug, or maybe you offer consulting? If so, Facebook is a great way to find potential buyers. Build a strong Facebook page and use it to talk about your product or service often. You can easily bring in tons of buyers you may never have reached another way!
Plus, not only can you meet new people, but you can form a closer relationship with them too, making them more likely to trust you and buy from you.
4. Sell Others’ Products with Affiliate Links
Are there any products you use, love, and want to tell the world about? Is there an affiliate program for those products? If so, you can make a killing. (Just check out Michelle’s income reports if you want proof!)
An affiliate link is a special link with a little bit of tracking code on the end. When someone clicks through your affiliate link and buys a product or signs up for a service, you earn a commission. Commissions can range anywhere from pennies to thousands of dollars, but again, they all add up.
Plus, if you use a Facebook scheduler that rotates through your statuses (like Edgar or Post Planner), you can almost set it and forget it when it comes to affiliate links. Figure out what works and then let your scheduler post them for you!
5. Teach Others What You Know
How many people do you know who are stuck in dead-end jobs they hate because they think it’s normal to hate your life for 40+ hours per week and live for the weekend?
Don’t you think they’d LOVE to learn how they could make money doing something they love instead? Don’t you think, if you knew how to help, they’d pay you to show them?
I wrote my book, Strategies Worth Sharing: How I Grew My Facebook Page from 2,000 to 100,000 in Five Months after countless people asked me, “HOW did you grow your Facebook page so big! How can we do it too??”
I saw a need, I knew how to solve it, I created a product, and I’ve been paid well for it.
What do you know how to do that you could teach others to do? How could you use Facebook to help you?
Well, there you have it, the top ways I get paid to play on Facebook.
Are you interested in making money on Facebook too? If so, the first thing you’ll need is a healthy-sized Facebook page with good engagement. And for that, you’ll absolutely want to check out my book, Strategies Worth Sharing: How I Grew My Facebook Page from 2,000 to 100,000 in Five Months.
You certainly don’t need anywhere near 100,000 fans to make some serious money, but my book will show you exactly what you need to do to create a healthy, growing page with real, engaged fans.
And whether you want to quit your day job to become a professional blogger or you simply want to earn a little extra fun money on the side, my book will help you grow the Facebook page that will help you do just that.
Don’t waste your time posting random Facebook statuses that give you no return on investment. Grab Strategies Worth Sharing and learn how to grow an amazing Facebook page that you can monetize starting today!
Bio: Two and a half years ago, Brittany started blogging on a whim because her friend started a blog and she thought “it looked fun.” Little did she know it was a decision that would change her life forever.
Today, Brittany is a busy work-at-home mom , trying to balance working, being a good wife and taking care of three VERY energetic (but completely adorable) little ones. When she isn’t busy working on her site, Equipping Godly Women, or cleaning up the box of cereal the toddler dumped all over the floor AGAIN, you can probably find her on Facebook, catching up on the latest blog news and eating way too many cookies.
